How sweet it is, to finish the image in the camera. Sure, back home, when we bring our photographs into the world, we make sure the color, exposure, and contrast are correct, but since there are so many other variables – like finding the perfect color and light reflecting from autumn trees above, waiting for the wind to toss the branches, and figuring out the shutter speed that will create the feeling of a mosaic – it feels good to to look at the histogram and know you have a well exposed digital negative, and that you just made showing your image to the world so much easier.
