Where’s the Magic?

Standing on the shore of a lake at sunrise, there were many photographic possibilities. There were reeds and lily pads along one shore, tucked in the shadows. Loons were swimming on the far shore. The hill on the other side of the lake cast a big shadow across most of the scene, creating a mix of light and dark. White, bright light was already in the sky. I could have photographed the whole lake, but that seemed so confused with light. There were a lot of choices, but the magic, the reason I was there, what took my breath away, was the golden light coming through the fog. So that became the photograph.

Deciding what to photograph gets answered when I follow the magic.
