I Can’t Get No . . .

I ignore all customer satisfaction surveys. You’ve been there. You spend way too much time on the phone trying to get through to another human, a knowledgeable and helpful human, and afterwards they want to know how good they were. Time is my finite and precious gold. If you really want to know how your company is doing, try calling yourself. Come on, do it. Dial the toll free number, enter the maze of choices, and watch your gold disappear. And make sure to go for the full experience. Don’t settle for timing how long it takes to get your call answered, but pick an issue that we all call about—make something up if your life is clean of insurance, banking, credit, employment, health, travel, and shopping issues, and perhaps you were on another planet recently. And make sure that your phone number and email are in the system so the gift keeps on giving.
